The Sew into Fashion Academy is a virtual academy run by CfBT Lincolnshire School Improvement Service, sponsored by Janome Sewing Machines, designed to support students studying textiles and fashion. Through residencies with professional designers and practitioners, students research, design and make garments to model at the annual Academy Sew into Fashion Show.
The programme equips students with sewing, cutting and machining skills and experience with creative industry professionals who bring direct contact and insight into Design and Fashion, thereby providing participants with a more comprehensive understanding of the fashion industry. Schools and individual students have the opportunity to enter their designs for the Designer and Academy Awards which are presented at the Fashion Show.
The Sew into Fashion Show is a glamorous, exciting event where Lincolnshire Fashion Academy students from Lincolnshire primary and secondary schools model the creations they have designed and made working alongside professional designers. The show is the culmination and highlight of the Academy programme, where, as well as the catwalk presentations, winners of the coveted Designer Awards will be announced and designers and makers from across the region sell their work at the Fashion Market. The Academy is run by the CfBT School Improvement Service Arts team and sponsored by Janome and Coats.
